I just bought my 1st DSLR camera, Sony A200. It came with an 18-55mm F3.5 lens. If I’m going to be shooting people do I want a wider angle lens? Isn’t the 18mm end of the lens it came with wide enough? someone told me to get a 50mm F1.7. What is the range of that len’s?

Not sure what my next lens shoud be.

I am new to photography and have enrolled in classes but they don’t start for 2 months!

I know there is a teleconverter you can get for this camera while using the conversion lens adaptor LA-DC58K. That adaptor has a 58mm thread size. I have a Raynox 58mm fisheye but I’m wondering if this would work with the G10. I’m not to sure if it will focus right or not. Anyone have experiences with something like this? Just tell me what you think please.

i was interested in this one cause of the great range and would be a starter lens, just wish it had IS, but maybe its good that it doesn’t have this, that way i can learn to control the camera better. i dont want to spend a lot on a lens right now.
