Canon t1i Photography (Part 3!)

December 31st, 2011

Hello! I’m sixteen years old, and these are some of the best photos I have taken with my Canon T1i dSLR. In most of these shots, I used my 50mm 1.8 lens, and all the rest were with my 100mm macro. I also used a Canon MR-14ex ring flash for many of the macro shots. Please tell me what you think of these, and some tips on what I could do to improve. I know a lot about photography and this camera, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask! Don’t let my young age turn you away, haha. Category:

is wide angle photography all that its cracked up to be?

      December 30th, 2011

I took a few shots with someone else“s lens and indeed, you see more of the scene, but the optical distortion is overwhelming. (its a good make of lens).
ok ok! :) I am trying to decide whether or not to splash out on a new lens and am thinking about how many people are going to laugh when they hear how much I have spent.
Perhaps "overwhelming" is too stong a word. I just felt that it make a narrow space seem very wide. It was not a fisheye lens
The focul length was 10mm if I remember correctly.
I certainly take the point about it being necessary for landscape and architecture. I was wondering whether the leses enable creativity in other areas. I am thinking for instance, that a wide angle of a person with a low depth of field could have a certain impact. Sure, when people are spread out, I can see its useful.
