im only using a basic digital camera. i’ve tried adjusting the EV setting etc & it didnt help. i noticed the lens is dusty. would this cause the over exposed images?

p.s the images were indoors and of people. they all just come out with white faces, like the flash is too strong.

alternatives to Nikon wide angle lens?

      April 12th, 2011

I want to buy a wide-angle lens for my Nikon D3000. Unfortunately I haven’t got 0 lying around to buy theirs. I found a few from seemingly reputable sellers online, can anybody tell me if these are ok or if they will not work? I don’t know a lot about photography and I don’t plan to make it a career or anything, but I love photographing mountains and could really use a lens that will take a wide picture.

I hope my question makes sense. I want to be able to take long photos.
I’m not kidding, I said already I don’t know much at all about photography, please don’t make fun of me! This is the whole reason I’m asking, is so I can know. No need to be a snot about it.

What alternatives would you suggest for a wide angle lens? Is there anything I can get for under 0? It doesn’t need to be top of the line. If that just isn’t possible you should just say.

How to get a spec of dust out of camera Lens?

        April 2nd, 2011

There are a few white specs inside of the first glass lens of my camera. It is a digital camera, not with a removable barrel. Is there someone that I can take it to, to have it taken apart and cleaned? Its really throwing off the image quality and screwing with the focus. Here is a link showing a picture of the camera: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://dylan.tweney.com/images/kodak_dx7590.jpg&imgrefurl=http://dylan.tweney.com/writing.php%3Fdisplay%3D417&usg=__nTaiykRr8bN_KJGz9MD05WvrqpM=&h=317&w=300&sz=63&hl=en&start=0&tbnid=vq6c4-dyljJSDM:&tbnh=126&tbnw=123&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dkodak%2Bdx7590%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D681%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=368&ei=q4hsTJi9OcH58AbQnYWcCw&oei=q4hsTJi9OcH58AbQnYWcCw&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0&tx=56&ty=53

Nikkor 18-35mm VS. Sigma 10-20mm lens?

          March 18th, 2011

I am looking to get a new lens for my Nikon D90, and I can’t decide between the two. I am not really a photography buff, I just want a very wide angle lens for use in my job (house remodeling contractor.) The picture I will be taking won’t be "professional" and I am not really very picky with most of the aspects of photography, I just want to be able to take good looking photos with at a very wide angle. Any suggestions would greatly help! Thanks!
Also, these are the links for both lenses.

What lens to use for wedding photography?

              February 4th, 2011

I am an amateur photographer who has the following equipments:

              - Nikon D40
              - 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens (wide angle)
              - 55-200mm f/4-5.6 lens (zoom lens that shows details & shallow depth of field)
              - 35mm f/1.8 lens (prime lens with big aperture that show shallow depth of field, and yet capture more area than my 55-200mm zoom lens)

My girlfriend’s brother is getting married this August in Hawaii, and he asked me to be his designated wedding photographer. This will be a big challenge for me because this will be my first time being the designated photographer; I know how to use my lenses but it will be very inconvenient to switch around lenses during wedding ceremony. What do professional photographer use for wedding? If I have to use the above lenses, I will use 18-55mm to shoot wide angle (captures a bunch of people), use 35mm to get shallow depth of field, and use 55-200mm to zoom from long distance. But it will be quite troublesome to switch lenses around & potentially miss some precious shots. Is there one lens that I can use to achieve the above? Thanks!

Is there a digital equivalent for a Perspective Control Lens. I plan to upgrade to a DSLR.?

                January 27th, 2011

Nikon has discontinued their manual control PC Lens. I am into architectural photography and the only other correction is CS2 (that I know of) I am looking for a digital equivalent of a Perspective Control Wide-Angle Lens that doesn’t distort buildings when you have to take shots of them close up. I will be working with a Nikon D50 (when I upgrade to DSLR later this year); I currently work with a Nikon E2200 Point & Shoot.

What camera lens would be the best for me to buy?

                  January 11th, 2011

I asked this already in the camera section but I was hoping you guys in Photography could help me out as well…

I have the Canon EOS Rebel T1i…Right now I have the standard 18-55 mm lens but I’m looking for something with more clarity & that has more zoom. If that makes any sense. I mostly do portraits but I occasionally do nature photography as well…

                  Help.
