I need some information on wide angle lenses. I take mostly portrait shots. I just dont know which ones are better than the other.
I own a Canon XS and i was wondering if it really mattered if i get a lens that’s made for a Canon XSi or a XTi or any other Canon?
Will it fit?
If so, does anyone know where i could find a cheap one? Besides Ebay?

I’ll try to be as specific with this as I can:
Yesterday I started receiving the err-99 on my canon digital rebel xti.
My autofocus does not work. I hold down the shutter button half way, and it does not focus. I hold it down all the way, and it does not shoot the picture. I change the focus settings to manual, and the picture comes out extremely dark, even when using flash. My shutter speed and aperture settings are all normal.
The lens I was using was the stock 18-55mm lens included in the kit. Immediately i tried shooting with another lens, which worked fine, isolating the problem to this specific lens.
I started adjusting the zoom, and noticed that the aperture blades that widen and narrow the "iris" (sorry for the lack of terminology,) did not move. I also heard a distinct clicking when i did this, leading me to believe this problem is located in the aperture blades.
Any ideas what I can do? thanks for your time.

I just bought a canon digital rebel xsi, with the ef 50mm f1.4 standard and medium telephoto lens. Does anyone know if (and how) I can zoom using this lens?
I have had a Canon Rebel XS for about 5 months now and everything has been wonderful. I have the kit which came with it (EFS 18-55mm lens) and an additional lens (EF 75-300mm).
I recently purchased a Canon EOS-3 film camera and expected my EF lenses to work on it’s EF mount. The 75-300mm fit on the EOS-3 but the 18-55mm did not.
What could be the problem?
Could it be that the 18-55mm is an EFS?

When you are looking to buy a camera lense for a DSLR and it is speaking about how the lens is, say, 17mm-85mm, what is that saying about the lens? I am unsure and would really like to know. Also, if you could refer me to any good lenses for the canon rebel xs that would be lovely 
How much should a canon EF 200mm L 2.8 lens cost used? Im selling my dirtbike and trading this guy for a lens and some money he wants to knock 400$ off the price but i dont think its worth that much new its about 700 and its from some guy and not like a store where it would come refurbished.
