Best Canon Wide Angle Lens

I’m a Canon user because I’m into filmmaking as much as photography, and also I’ve already invested in the lenses. It’s not the biggest bag out there but it makes me happy! I am planning to buy a dSLR camera soon, the Rebel XSi and because it has a APS-C sensor, there will be a crop factor of 1.6x when I use an EF lens for it. I am told to invest in EF lenses but I am worried if the crop factor will have a large impact on it. What if I wanted a wide angle lens? How much will the crop factor impact the ability of this wide-angle lens?

i bought a sony vx2000 with a wide angle lens off craigslist. The lens had some nicks in it and the seller gave me a replacement. I am not sure how to replace it or if i should get someone else professional to do it or what. I just need to know how to switch out the glass part of the lens. Any help would be appreciated!

What are the differences between these two wide angle lenses? Im looking at:
a canon EF 24mm f/2.8 wide angle lens and a canon EF 35mm f/2 wide angle lens?
I am an amateur photographer and all my knowledge is self-taught, and I was wondering what the difference in the mm means and also the f stops?
And which one would you consider a greater performance to price ration, which one is the better wide angle lens?

I ordered the lens off Thundercameras.com. About 5 mins after placing the order I got a call from a man working there saying it wouldn’t work with my camera and that I should get another lens with a steal mount.
Please explain.
