Please explain.

Could you possibly suggest proper wide-zoom lenses for a beginner digital Canon EOS photographer?

    November 3rd, 2010

I am a beginner in the field of digital photography and I need to buy a good wide angle or wide-zoom angle lens with the following specifications:
    - Dedicated for Canon EOS Rebel Xti (400D).
    - Less than (0 US).
    - The minimum focal length must be equal to or less than (17mm).

If you will suggest any other entry level wide lenses, I will be so thankful for your help.

What type of lens do you recommend for travel?

    October 19th, 2010

Hi, I’m fairly new to the photography world and I’m just getting the hang of it. I own a Canon Rebel EOS t1i and I have been using the lens it came with (18-55). I will be going to travel this summer and would like to purchase a new lens. Should I get a wide angle lens for scenery? They’re compact and convenient, but I don’t really know. I realize they don’t come cheap, but I would appreciate any suggestions. Please try to keep the price within a reasonable range. Thanks in advance.

Will a Canon EF 28-90 mm lens work on an XSi?

    October 10th, 2010

I own a Canon EOS Rebel K2 film camera that came with a kit lens Canon EF 28-90 mm. I am thinking of going digital and am going to buy a EOS Rebel XSi. My question is if my old lens would work on the new camera so I could just buy the body and switch it out. I eventually, in the very far future, want to buy nicer lens, but can’t really afford it right now. Do they work very differently? I am not very knowledgeable on this subject. As a side note does anyone know how good the EF-S 18-55IS lens is? Should I buy the XSi as a kit or buy a separate/better lens?
Thank you for your answer! Very helpful. Yes, currently the 28-90mm on my K2 (35mm film) is sufficient for my needs, so it is good to know that the 18-55mm kit lens would work well for me.

So which of the two would make a better match for portraits and/or a walk around lens? The 28-90 plus XSi body or the 18-55 plus XSi body? Would the old 28-90mm make objects appear much more magnified? I am assuming since it may not perform as well that the 18-55mm kit lens would be a better bet for me.
